I was intrigued what colour a stage the grey mushrooms / toadstools observed yesterday. As predicted the cluster that had contained blackened mushrooms and pale stalks, was now only composed of pale stalks. Also as predicted, the mushrooms of the other cluster had changed colour. The buttermilk coloured mushrooms were of a grey colour, the previously grey mushrooms were now black. Also some of the black mushrooms had shrunk in size. Also only pale stalks were visible for some. When I walked past in the afternoon, all that was left of the cluster was a black mass with pale stalks sticking out. The stalks of the other cluster were no longer visible, and it was hard to determine whese the cluster had been located. When I previously observed these mushrooms in March, I tentatively identified these specimens as Coprinellus disseminatus (previous known as Coprinus disseminatus) with the help of the Field Guide to the Australian Fungi Wikipedia. This species is found on decaying wood.
